Take a gander at our pretty kitchen. I'm so very pleased with how it all turned out. It was worth the late nights of working, the endless wood staining, the mess and the cranky days.
It's so lovely having my baking supplies behind doors (doors with very strong magnets) where little hands can't cause mischief. And I love having a floor that isn't crumbling to pieces and getting eaten by little mouths.

Oooh, pretty! :-)
VERY beautiful, Adiel! Is that laminate flooring or did you refinish hardwood under the tile?
Oh, I should have mentioned what the flooring is. Yes, it's laminate flooring. When we tore up the old tiles and subfloor we were so tempted to just refinish the original wood floor, but we discovered several holes and places where the wood was pretty rotted. Plus, because it was only a thin layer of wood separating the kitchen from the dank basement it got really cold in there! So Joshua lay a nice, sturdy subfloor before putting the laminate down.
I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but the countertop is one piece of wood. I was so glad Joshua was able to do that. No cracks to get bread dough stuck in!
Wow.
That's really nice, Adiel.
Oooooh. Aaaaaah.
That looks incredibly awesome.
One question though, will the kids still be allowed to play hockey in there if they want to?
Kitchen hockey will always be welcome in my home! :o)
